The fast-casual restaurant Tacos, Tortas & Tequila (TTT) is closing in Silver Spring at the end of the month after more than three years of operation. The restaurant’s last day will be Nov. 29.
Area restaurateur Ivan Iricanin opened TTT at 8407 Ramsey Ave. in the spring of 2018, along with a sister restaurant Buena Vida, which was in the same building.
Last year, Iricanin closed Buena Vida due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the restaurant industry, and expanded the TTT space in its place.
Iricanin, in a statement to Bethesda Beat on Thursday, said the Silver Spring location’s business model was not sustainable due to both the pandemic and the operating costs of the restaurant.
“The drop in the volume of business over the last year finally forced our hand to close. For 2022, we are shifting our focus to other areas within metropolitan Washington for expansion opportunities,” he said.
TTT’s location in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Va., will remain open, Washingtonian reported on Tuesday.
