Beer garden serves brews, wine, cocktails, casual food

South House Garden at 317 E. Diamond Ave. in Gaithersburg is opening on Thursday.

The beer garden serves a variety of beer, wine and cocktails, along with a food menu.

Draft and bottled beers run $6 to $8; wines by the glass are $8 to $10. Cocktails range from $8 to $13 and include cosmopolitans, gimlets, greyhounds, Sangrias, white Russians and margaritas among others. South House Garden also offers liquors such as vodka, gin, rum and tequila for $8 to $15 per drink.

Appetizers ($7 to $12) feature Southern fare such as fried green tomatoes, fried okra, jalapeno cornbread skillet and country-fried deviled eggs.

Main courses ($14 to $30) include tacos, pizzas, sandwiches and crab cakes. South House Garden also offers vegan pizzas, salads, tacos and a quesadilla.

The beer garden also features a few arcade games inside for customers.

South House Garden will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
