Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, an East Coast gourmet burger chain that offers brews and wine along with regular menu specials, is planning to open a Silver Spring location in January, according to liquor license application filed with the Montgomery County Board of License Commissioners.
The restaurant, to be located at 1294 East West Highway in the Blair Park Shopping Center, features a burger of the week, along with other sandwiches, salads, sides and shakes. In addition, customers can enjoy a variety of wine, beer and hand-crafted cocktails as well as non-alcoholic beverages made in house with fresh fruits and juices, such as like black and blue and cucumber-mint lemonade.
Hours of operation are expected to be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
A hearing on Zinburger’s application is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 6 in the County Council office building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.
City Perch opens ground-floor patio at Pike & Rose
City Perch Kitchen + Bar at North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose development announced this week it has opened an outdoor, ground-floor dining patio at the entrance of the iPic Theaters.
“We’re excited to offer our Pike & Rose neighbors and residents a new outdoor dining and lounge experience to complement our upstairs space,” said John Foster, senior general manager for iPic and City Perch Kitchen + Bar.
The open-air dining space, which is decorated with lush plants and a water installation includes a lounge area and seats up to 40 people. The main restaurant is located on the second floor of the building at 11830 Grand Park Ave.
The restaurant is offering an al fresco menu from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily on the patio, weather permitting. Diners can enjoy seasonal items and City Perch favorites made with produce from Up Top Acres, the restaurant’s roof-top farm. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to the restaurant.
Kaldi’s featured in Tostito’s ad on Facebook
The new rooftop lounge at Kaldi’s Social House, a trendy coffeehouse in downtown Silver Spring, is the setting for a video ad for Tostitos corn chips. The ad, posted on the coffeehouse’s Facebook page, shows patrons eating chips, singing, drinking, and dancing to their favorite disc jockey music selections using fluorescent headphones. The lounge, at 918 Silver Spring Ave., serves breakfast, lunch and bar food, in addition to coffee, tea and cocktails.
Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway visits Tastee Diner
Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, took time out of her hectic White House schedule to visit cook Al Snowden at Bethesda’s Tastee Diner on Monday.
“We are so happy to have our good friend Kelly Ann back to visit,” Snowden posted on the diner’s Facebook page.
Conway’s visit drew mixed reactions on Facebook, with some posters applauding the diner for welcoming people of all political persuasions while others expressed dismay.
