Updated: Del Frisco’s Grille, a North Bethesda chain restaurant, is celebrating National Women’s Month with a wine tasting featuring female winemakers.

The walk-around tasting will offer 20 wines, including selections from Duckhorn Vineyards, Matanzas Creek Winery and Veuve Clicquot. Guests will be able to taste a variety of wines while learning from and interacting with the women who made them. Hors d-oeuvres will be passed around as well.

In a statement, Vice President of Beverage Gretchen Thomas said the chain is “thrilled to be celebrating women in wine,” and is looking forward to honoring its female winemakers.

The event is March 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Prices are $55 per guest, plus tax and gratuity.

Guests can sign up online or call the restaurant to make a reservation.

Balducci’s partnering with Tennessee farm

The gourmet grocer will launch a collection from Blackberry Farm on Saturday, including artisanal cheeses, bacon and jams.

The Bethesda location will host a Meet the Maker event with Blackberry Farm manager Dustin Busby from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., including an in-store demonstration.

“As one of America’s finest destinations and maker of artisanal foods, Blackberry Farm is an ideal brand for Balducci’s discerning customers,” Balducci’s cheese merchant John Coleman said in statement.

The farm spans 4,200 acres near the Smoky Mountains in Walland, Tennessee, and produces a wide variety of products, from coffee to jams to charcuterie. It also has a brewery, and Blackberry Farm beers will be available at Balducci’s locations in spring 2019.

“Balducci’s is the perfect retail partner to launch our products,” Blackberry Farm president Matt Alexander said in a statement. “Their emphasis on the highest quality foods and customer experience aligns with our mission at Blackberry Farm.”

Morton’s Steakhouse has lobster for Lent

For religious observers avoiding meat on Fridays during the Lenten season, Morton’s will have twin lobster tails for $39.

The offer is available every Friday through April 12 from 5 p.m. to closing time.

The county’s lone Morton’s location is at 7400 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda.
