Bethesda Bagels opened its second Bethesda store Friday in the Wildwood shopping center, Federal Realty Investment Trust announced Friday in a press release.

Bethesda Bagels is a fast-casual chain that started in 1982 and serves breakfast sandwiches, bagels and other items, with most foods costing between $5 and $10.

The Wildwood store is the chain’s fifth in the greater Washington, D.C., region. It is near CVS and [solidcore] fitness center. It will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Chocolate-Covered Wine Bottles Coming to Westfield Montgomery Mall

Mallgoers at Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery will soon be able to buy chocolate-covered bottles of booze.

Bliss in a Bottle, a Columbus, Ohio-based retailer that sells bottles of wine covered in chocolate, is opening a kiosk in the Bethesda mall, owner Cheryl Sher said Thursday.

Sher started Bliss in a Bottle five years ago as a retail business where customers can buy bottles of wine dipped in a type of chocolate that pairs well with that type of wine. The chocolate shell can be removed by gently pulling on the ribbon that holds it in place, as seen in a 25-second instructional video.

Bliss in a Bottle’s Bethesda location will be the second in the greater Washington, D.C., region. There is one in Virginia’s Tyson’s Corner Center mall.

“It seems like a natural expansion since we’re in Tysons, and we have a lot of requests from customers for Montgomery [County]. The reputation seems to move about in D.C. and Maryland so it seemed like a natural expansion for us,” Sher said Thursday.

Sher said she is scheduled to appear before the county’s Board of License Commissioners next week, and if her liquor license is approved, she will open the kiosk soon after.

Bliss in a Bottle’s planned opening was first reported by Robert Dyer.
