Small Bites: Bangkok Garden Opens Rockville Location

Bangkok Garden opens Rockville location
The Bethesda Thai restaurant Bangkok Garden added a second location last week in Rockville’s Wintergreen Plaza.
The restaurant serves Thai “street food” that includes various curries, meat, poultry, rice and noodle dishes. Items range in price from $5 for appetizers to as much as $15 for entrees.
Bangkok Garden’s new Rockville restaurant is at 891-D Rockville Pike. The restaurant held its grand opening Friday.
A representative from the Bethesda restaurant said the two locations will have the same hours:
- 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch Monday through Friday
- 4:45 to 10:30 p.m. for dinner Monday through Thursday
- 4:45 to 11 p.m. for dinner Friday
- 4:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday
- 5 to 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mon Ami Gabi offers vegetarian/vegan menu
The French bistro Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda Row began offering a specific vegetarian and vegan menu this month. Among the vegan items are the appetizers of steamed artichokes and vegan onion soup. It also includes spiced cauliflower steak and frites as an entrée.
The vegetarian and vegan menu includes sides and a sorbet for dessert. Prices range from $5 to $20.
According to a spokesperson for the restaurant, Bethesda is one of four Mon Ami Gabi locations offering the vegetarian/vegan menu around the country.
French bakery adding Westfield Montgomery mall location
Patisserie Manuel, a French bakery in Silver Spring, is adding a location in the dining terrace area of Bethesda’s Westfield Montgomery mall. The bakery serves a variety of breads and pastries, as well as more hearty items such as quiches and beef empanadas.
Owner Claudia Olea started Patisserie Manuel following her graduation from L’Academie de Cuisine in May 2013.
The bakery posted on its Facebook page Oct. 30 that the Bethesda store would be opening in “a few weeks.”
News of the bakery’s planned Bethesda store was first reported by Store Reporter.
