Nando’s Opens Next Week at Pike & Rose
Grilled chicken chain to donate opening sales proceeds to Walter Johnson High School music program
Pike & Rose is about to get another restaurant.
Nando’s PERi-PERi is opening Monday at 922 Rose Ave. in the North Bethesda development. This will be the fifth location of the South African-based grilled chicken chain in Montgomery County, including restaurants in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Wheaton.
The fast-casual restaurant is known for its flame-grilled South African- and Portuguese-style chicken. The first Nando’s opened in 1987 in Johannesburg.
Nando’s announced the Pike & Rose restaurant will give 100 percent of its sales proceeds from its April 28 grand opening to support the music program at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, according to a company press release.
“This is all about being good neighbors, and Nando’s looks forward to becoming an integral part of the community,” Nando’s CEO John Fisher said in a statement.
Nando’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturdays.
Pike & Rose’s lineup of restaurants include Stella Barra Pizzeria and Summer House Santa Monica and fast-casual spots like Bibibop. Ramen restaurant Jinya, taco and cocktail joint Nada, café Julii, Commonwealth Indian and Kusshi Sushi and Sake Bar are among the restaurants opening soon in the development.
