Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar closed at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda last week.

The Minnesota-based chain opened its first and only East Coast location in January 2015 at the shopping center at 7101 Democracy Blvd.

The mall has not found a replacement for the Crave space, a spokeswoman said in an email. The mall declined to comment on the reason for the closing, citing landlord-tenant confidentiality.

Crave featured a lengthy sushi menu to go with American lunch and dinner options such as chicken wings, pasta and burgers. The restaurant also had vegetarian and gluten-sensitive menus.

Customers in search of sushi at the mall are left with Sarku Japan.

Crave representatives did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
