Cici’s Pizza, a chain of all-you-can-eat pizza buffets, has permanently closed its location in Rockville, the company confirmed Friday.
The company said in a statement to Bethesda Beat on Friday afternoon that it decided on June 17 to permanently close the restaurant at 12111 Rockville Pike due to the “economic realities brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The Rockville location was no longer listed on Cici’s Pizza’s website on Friday. The closest Maryland locations is now in Frederick. The restaurant also is in Manassas, Va., and Woodbridge, Va.
The signage at the Rockville restaurant remained in place as recently as Tuesday. A paper sign was on the door stating that the restaurant was temporarily closed due to COVID-19.
Earlier on Friday, landlord Weingarten Realty spokesman Jimmy Conder declined to comment about whether Cici’s had closed, saying the company “does not make comments regarding our tenants or their plans.”
The Moco Show first reported Cici’s closure last week.
