A Frederick-based developer is eyeing Potomac for a project with 51 two-story independent living units aimed at seniors hoping to “age in place,” according to plans submitted to the county Planning Board.
In its submission, Wormald Companies details plans for the community. It would divide the residences among 17 structures on the 30-acre property at 10701 South Glen Road, to complement a neighborhood with mostly single-family homes.
Each living unit will have a parking garage and a driveway for additional parking, according to the application.
“The [proposal] is responsive to the needs and desires of the aging Potomac housing market,” the application says. “With a suburban design familiar to Potomac residents, coupled with a comprehensive offering of independent living services, the IL Community presents an attractive opportunity for downsizing homeowners to ‘age-in-place,’ and will set a new standard for independent living in the Potomac Subregion.”
The Planning Board is scheduled to consider the planon Oct. 7.
SageLife Senior Living, an independent living provider based in Pennsylvania, will provide a “wide array of independent living services including wellness, home and lifestyle,” the application says.
SageLife living provides services at six other locations, including one in Towson. The company provides services like lectures, concerts, classes, games, parties, picnics and programs aimed at maintaining mobility, according to its website.
