A new Silver Spring apartment complex for senior citizens opened last week.

Pointe View at Aspen Hill, at 3136 Bel Pre Road, is a four-story building with 120 units that will be rented to people at least 62 years old. There are 61 one-bedroom and 59 two-bedroom units, according to a news release from Penrose, the developer.

One-bedroom units rent between $1,309 and $1,450, while two-bedroom units range from $1,298 to $1,900, according to Pointe View’s website.

The Montgomery County Planning Board approved the project in 2017, according to online records.

There is an outdoor patio area and seating to the south of the building. A walking path with benches is in the front of the building, extending around a parking lot. There are 115 parking spaces on the property.

Penrose partnered with The Senior Connection, a nonprofit organization that says it is dedicated to “preserving and fostering independence, mobility and quality of life for seniors,” to provide on-site services, including transportation, a grocery shopping program and assistance with bills and paperwork.
