Montgomery County reports 100-plus new COVID-19 cases for seven of past 10 days

108 more cases reported Thursday; new total is 24,772

For seven of the past 10 days, Montgomery County has reported a daily increase of more than 100 COVID-19 cases.

On Thursday, 108 new confirmed cases were reported in the county, according to data from the Maryland Department of Health.

In September, the county had eight days with daily case increases of more than 100. It had five days of at least 100 new cases in August.

Conversely, on some days in September, the county reported as few as 30 new cases.

In total, Montgomery County has reported 24,772 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began in March.

One new confirmed death was reported Thursday, bringing the county’s total to 823.

There have been an additional 40 “probable” deaths, meaning COVID-19 is listed as the cause of death, but it was not confirmed by a laboratory test.

Across the state, there have been 137,979 cases of COVID-19 and 3,924 confirmed deaths.
