COVID-19 cases increase 0.44% overnight in Montgomery County

County added one new death Tuesday

Montgomery County recorded 94 cases of COVID-19 Tuesday morning to bring its total to 21,375 — an increase of 0.44% from Monday, according to the latest figures from the Maryland Department of Health.

The county added one new death on Tuesday, for a new total of 795. Before, the county had not recorded a new death since Saturday.

There have also been 40 “probable” deaths, meaning the coronavirus is listed as the cause of death on certificates, but it has not been confirmed by laboratory tests.

Across Maryland, there have been 117,245 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Tuesday morning, an increase of 0.51% from the previous day.

Statewide, there have been 3,706 confirmed deaths.
