State reports one additional confirmed death from virus in Montgomery
The number of COVID-19 cases Montgomery County has had increased by 124 — or 0.5% — overnight, for a new total of 25,562.
The county has had eight straight days with at least 100 new COVID-19 cases.
The Maryland Department of Health reported Wednesday morning that the county had one additional confirmed death from the virus since Tuesday morning. The county’s confirmed death toll is at 830.
There have been 40 “probable” deaths in the county. “Probable” deaths have the coronavirus listed as the cause of death on certificates but has not been confirmed by laboratory tests yet.
Across Maryland, cases increased by 684 — or 0.5% — since Tuesday morning. The state has had 142,425 confirmed cases.
There have been 3,969 people who are confirmed to have died from the virus in the state.
