104 new COVID-19 cases reported in Montgomery County on Wednesday

Totals for county increase to 24,664 cases, 822 confirmed deaths

After two days of reporting fewer than 100 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, Montgomery County on Wednesday recorded 104 new cases, according to state data.

The 104 new cases represent about 21% of the 492 new cases reported across the state on Wednesday.

The new cases bring Montgomery County’s total to 24,664.

The county has had at least 100 new cases on six of the last nine days.

The county also reported one new confirmed death on Wednesday morning, bringing its total to 822.

There have been an additional 40 “probable” deaths, meaning COVID-19 is listed as the cause of death, but a laboratory test was not conducted.

Across Maryland, there have been 137,236 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 3,912 deaths.
