Trader Joe’s is opening the doors of its Rockville grocery store on Sept. 7.
The grocery store chain known for its Hawaiian shirt-wearing employees will hold a ceremonial lei cutting to christen the store in Travilah Square Shopping Center on Darnestown Road. The celebration, scheduled to start at 8 a.m., will also include live music, food tastings and giveaways. The store manager–or “store captain”–and crew members will be there to greet customers, according to a news release.
The roughly 13,000-square-foot store will be decorated with murals of the Potomac River and landmarks from the area.
The store hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
