Pieology Pizzeria, a fast-casual pizza restaurant on Bethesda Row, will be replaced by a facial spa next year.

Heyday, a shop the provides personalized skin treatments, will open in 2020 at 4922 Elm St. where Pieology is currently located, according to a news release from Federal Realty, the company that owns and leases the property.

Federal Realty representatives declined to comment on Pieology’s future and did not say when Heyday will open next year.

Pieology opened in Bethesda in June 2017. It offers a handful of pre-selected, thin-crust pizza options, or customers can make a personalized pizza. There is a franchise location on Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg that opened in 2016.

Staff at the Bethesda location declined to comment on Wednesday morning. A corporate spokesperson did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Heyday offers facial skin treatments ranging between 30 minutes and 75 minutes and the Bethesda location will have 11 treatment rooms and a shopping area with skincare products at the front of the store.

Treatments are personalized for each customer and can be “upgraded” to include exfoliation and beard care, according to the company’s website.

Membership plans will also be offered for discounted monthly facials and products and access to member-only events.

The location will be Heyday’s first foray into Montgomery County. Other locations are in New York, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
