In its nine years, Acqua Nails hasn’t raised its prices, still charging $15 for a manicure. “Customers can get their nails done at so many places,” says owner John Patrick Ngo. “But why they come to us is we put our customers first, keeping our services affordable.”

Ngo started with a tiny store on Sangamore in 2002 and added a large, downtown Bethesda salon in December 2007. He plans to add men’s grooming and children’s spa services next to the two locations.

The name Acqua stands for the salon’s four principles: Assurance, Consistency, Quality and Uniquely Affordable.

4701 Sangamore Road, Unit M8, Bethesda, 301-320-6245
