Hans Reimer

Montgomery County councilmember Hans Riemer’s toughest moment in 2015 occurred a long way from the council chambers in Rockville. In August, Riemer was playing with his kids while on vacation in upstate New York when he slipped and landed awkwardly on a trampoline, resulting in a fractured femur just inside his hip. After a painful two-hour ambulance ride to the nearest trauma center, Riemer underwent successful surgery. With the help of crutches, Riemer was able to carry out his duties at council meetings and other public events. “I guess a 42-year-old man has no business on a trampoline,” Riemer said.
