Best Oriental Rug Repair

Editors' Pick

Mark Keshishian and Sons

Turkish-born founder Mark Keshishian opened his rug store in the District in 1931 before moving it to Chevy Chase in 1970. Today his grandson, also named Mark, manages this shop with
on-premise repairs.

Keshishian and Sons has serviced rugs throughout the area for prominent clients (no names; the store protects their privacy). Its particular focus is on fringes, edgework, bindings and patching.

“Puppy dogs and potted plants bring us a lot of business,” the younger Mark Keshishian says. Repair costs vary depending on the type of rug and degree of difficulty.
