Tiger Woods’ Tournament Returns to Congressional Country Club in June
Pro golfers return to the Bethesda course in 2016 after venue changes were made to the tournament last year
Congressional Country Club
We knew the PGA Tour would return to Congressional Country Club next year after a one-year hiatus and now we know when.
The Quicken Loans National will take place at the Bethesda golf course from June 23 to 26, according to the 2016 tour schedule released Thursday by the PGA.
The event, known as the AT&T National for many years, is sponsored by the Tiger Woods Foundation.
Last year, Congressional’s members voted to host the tournament every two years in 2016, 2018 and 2020 after hosting it annually from 2007 to 2009 and from 2012 to 2014.
This year’s tournament, which started Thursday, takes place at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
After the 2016 event at Congressional, the tournament will move to nearby TPC Potomac at Avenal Farm in 2017 before returning to Congressional again in 2018.
Correction: The original version of this article stated the tournament will take place from June 26 to 29; it is in fact from June 23 to 26.
