P.F. Chang’s will close at the White Flint Mall on Jan. 4, according to a spokeswoman for the international restaurant chain.
The restaurant is one of two tenants still open at the mall.
The mall’s owners, Lerner Enterprises and The Tower Cos., are preparing to redevelop the land into a 5.2 million-square-foot mixed-use town center under the White Flint Sector Plan, although they have yet to announce a timeframe for the project.
After the Chinese restaurant closes, only the Lord & Taylor department store will remain. The department store is currently fighting plans to redevelop the mall in federal court until its lease expires at the mall in 2055.
Bethesda blogger Robert Dyer first reported the restaurant’s closure.
The restaurant is encouraging local customers to visit the Chevy Chase location at 5406 Wisconsin Avenue.
Dave & Buster's was one of the other remaining stalwarts at the mall, before it closed in August after losing a lawsuit against the mall's owners.
