Former County Council member takes over at Manna Food Center
Craig Rice, a former member of the Montgomery County Council, has taken over as head of Manna Food Center, a White Oak-based nonprofit that celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024. Rice, who represented District 2 on the council, left office due to term limits. [Source of the Spring]
Plumbing company employees plead guilty to dumping grease, wastewater in MoCo
Jaime Beza, 33, and Robert Dupey, 51, employees of Howard County plumbing company JPG Plumbing and Mechanical Inc., pleaded guilty to polluting a pond in a residential community in Ashton. Instead of properly disposing of their truck’s tank full of grease and other pollutants at a wastewater treatment facility in Washington, D.C., the two dumped the sludge into a manhole behind a 7-Eleven in the Ashton Village Center that drains into the pond.
