Starting in late February, dozens of restaurants in the downtown Bethesda area participating in a local restaurant week are set to offer a variety of dining deals. Savor Bethesda, sponsored by the Bethesda Urban Partnership, runs from Feb. 20 to March 2.
According to Stephanie Coppula, director of marketing and communications for the Bethesda Urban Partnership, this will be the fifth year running Savor Bethesda. The restaurant week began in October 2020 as a “way to help support downtown Bethesda’s restaurant community during [the pandemic],” she said Thursday in an email to Bethesda Today.
The annual event aims to encourage residents and visitors to try new restaurants in downtown Bethesda or return to favorites, Coppula said. Also, with the event being held in winter, Coppula noted that Savor Bethesda also aims to promote dining out when restaurants are less crowded after the holidays.
“It’s a fun way to enjoy the winter months with great food and beverages, and a variety of dining options,” she said.
This year, 41 restaurants are participating in the restaurant week, an increase from the 30 participating restaurants when the event first started. “It’s great to see [Savor Bethesda] has grown in popularity among restaurants,” Coppula said.
From a $10 smoked mustard pulled pork sandwich from The Organic Butcher and $20 bento box from Kusshi to a Ukrainian dinner at RUTA or a three-course lunch at The Salt Line for $35, diners will find plenty of cuisines available at a variety of prices.
