A police captain from the Takoma Park Police Department was struck by an allegedly impaired driver Monday night in the area of Piney Branch and Park Valley roads, Montgomery County police said Tuesday. The officer was driving his police cruiser when he was struck, leaving him with serious injuries. [DC News Now]
