Maryland State Police are seeking the public’s help as officers investigate a shooting early Sunday on the Beltway’s outer loop in Silver Spring that left a man injured, police said Monday in a statement.
Shortly before 12:30 a.m., state police and emergency medical crews responded to the outer loop of I-495 for the report of a shooting, the statement said.
Responding officers found a man, who was driving a white Ford 350 pickup truck, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso, police said Monday in an email to Bethesda Today.
The man was shot during a “roadway encounter” on the Beltway in the area of New Hampshire Avenue, police said. The man was transported to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment.
State police ask anyone who was traveling on the outer loop between midnight and 12:20 a.m. and who has dashcam footage to contact investigators, the statement said. Also, anyone with information related to the Sunday incident can contact investigators at 410-538-1887. Callers can remain anonymous.
