An audit from the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission found the Metrorail’s emergency and fire safety systems didn’t have reliable communication systems during emergencies. The audit also found that Metrorail employees have delayed contacting first responders after finding fire or smoke. [WJLA

A New York man was charged with home invasion and armed robbery in Montgomery County and attempted murder of a law enforcement officer in Virginia after he allegedly stole multiple vehicles, broke into a home and led police on a pursuit. [DC News Now
