Sprout, an organic café serving fresh breads, spreads, meals and coffee, is opening a location on Bethesda Row in downtown Bethesda this summer, according to a Federal Realty press release.

“We are excited to open our fifth location and bring to the Bethesda community our tasty, scratch-made meals, scratch-made artisanal breads, healthy spreads, and more when we open later this year,” owner Ryan Groll said in the release. “Our nutritionist-designed, chef-crafted meals will be a memorable dining experience for the Bethesda community.”

The 740-square-foot café will be at 4926 Elm St. between YogiTopi and Ideal Image and near Heyday, Mamma Lucia and PLANTA on Bethesda Row.

The menu at Sprout features soups, breads, overnight oat bowls, chia puddings, acai bowls, smoothies, wraps, small plates and baked goods, according to the release. Entrees include honey pot chicken, herb-crusted salmon and turkey sloppy joes. In addition, the café features a full espresso bar and drinks bottled and made in-house.

According to the release, Sprout was founded by Ryan Groll and his wife, Emily, in 2016 in Easton, Maryland. The café has additional locations in St. Michaels and in Annapolis, including at the Maryland State House.
