The Commanders are heading to the championship game for the first time in 33 years, generating excitement in the county and around the region.

On Friday morning, former Commanders players joined Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Thomas Taylor at Clarksburg High School for a pep rally to celebrate the team’s success and the Clarksburg girls flag football team winning the first-ever Maryland state championships in November.

Here are some other local bars and eateries where you can watch Sunday’s games:

In downtown Silver Spring, Silver Branch Brewing Co. at 401 Colesville Road is hosting a watch party from 3 to 6 p.m. for the Commanders-Eagles game. “Join us for the game on the big screen with the projector and sound on,” the brewery’s website says.

Tommy Joe’s Bar and Grill in downtown Bethesda is offering food and drink specials, including $7 crushes and $20 buckets of domestic beer, for Sunday’s games. The bar at 7940 Norfolk Ave. opens at 10 a.m.
