A 36-year-old Rockville man was arrested Jan. 16 after he allegedly stalked and then sexually assaulted a woman in Silver Spring in mid-January, Montgomery County police said in a statement Friday.
Marvin Alexander De Leon Siguenza was arrested in Rockville after the alleged victim reported the stalking and assault to police, according to the statement. Police said they believe there may be additional victims and urged them to come forward.
According to charging documents, De Leon Siguenza was charged with stalking, second-degree assault and fourth-degree sexual contact.
Court records regarding the stalking and sexual assault offenses as well as attorney information were not available for De Leon Siguenza on Friday afternoon.
According to charging documents, a woman was waiting at a bus stop in the area of Viers Mill Road and Ferrara Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. on Jan. 10 when a black SUV pulled up. A man, later identified by police as De Leon Siguenza, “lowered the passenger window and motioned to the [woman] to enter his vehicle,” the documents said. The woman refused and ignored his repeated requests. The man drove away after cars behind him began honking. Shortly after, the bus arrived and the woman boarded.
Four days later, the woman arrived at the same bus stop before 7 a.m. and saw that the same man was already there, charging documents state. The woman recognized De Leon Siguenza from the previous incident and he began to talk to her, asking her name and where she was going. When the bus arrived, the woman boarded and observed the man walking away.
On the day of the assault, the woman was walking shortly before 7 a.m. from her apartment in the 12000 block of Viers Mill Road to the bus stop and saw the same black SUV from days earlier parked in a fire lane in the apartment complex. She also saw the same man hiding in the bushes in front of her apartment.
The woman was headed toward her bus stop when the man came out of the bushes and began to run in her direction, according to the charging documents. Then the man grabbed the woman and “began to grope her body in what the Victim described as a sexual manner,” the documents said.
When the woman screamed, the man ran to the black SUV and drove away but not before the woman took a photo of the vehicle on her phone, charging documents said. After the woman went to the 4th District county police station in Wheaton to report the assault, investigators checked the vehicle’s license plate and identified De Leon Siguenza as the owner of the vehicle.
During a photo array, the woman identified De Leon Siguenza as the person who allegedly stalked and assaulted her, according to the charging documents.
According to police, De Leon Siguenza was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit in Rockville following his arrest.
