A 19-year-old man was transported to a local hospital after he was stabbed multiple times in Montgomery Village late Friday morning, according to police radio transmissions.
Around 11:10 a.m., Montgomery County police responded to the 19800 block of Wheelwright Drive for the report of an assault and a group of “kids fighting with knives,” according to the transmissions.
Dispatchers notified police that a 911 caller advised them of an assault and that the caller saw a long knife “like a machete” used in the attack, according to the radio transmissions.
A second caller also reported the incident and told a dispatcher the victim had a “face full of blood.” The dispatcher told police the caller said the suspect left in a white car while others in the group left in a black Camry or went to a nearby park.
According to the dispatch, responding officers spoke to a witness at the scene who advised the suspect was wearing a white ski mask as well as a wooden rosary.
The suspect, who was “swinging a big machete and slashed the kid,” was also with a group of teen-age males wearing black and gray hoodies, according to radio transmissions.
Later the victim, who suffered injuries to his head, was transported by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, according to the transmissions.
Montgomery County police did not immediately respond to Bethesda Today’s request for more details about the incident Friday afternoon.
