Valentine’s Day, a time to revel in romantic relationships, has morphed into a celebration of all kinds of love. Check out this list of activities and events for others ways to enjoy the spirit of the holiday.

Valentine’s Day Cake and Sip with the Silva Whisk

Drink mimosas and wine, eat snacks and learn how to decorate a 6-inch heart-shaped Vintage Lambeth Cake, a type of cake with over-piping. All supplies and a special gift are included. The event costs $140 and is open to couples, friends or singles.

Roller Skate Event with Montgomery Parks

Montgomery Parks is hosting a free Taylor Swift-themed outdoor skating event, fueled by hot chocolate and Catalyst Hot Dogs available for purchase. Participants must bring their own skates, lawn chairs and picnic blankets, and outside food is permitted. There will also be lawn games to play.

Feb. 8, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Ridge Road Recreational Skate Rink, 21155 Frederick Road, Germantown

This family-friendly event leads participants in painting heart artwork and decorating heart-shaped cookies. It is open to everyone age 5 and older and is taught by Dunnie Onasanya. Prices range from $13.50 to $15.

Vanish Beer Garden Galentine’s Day Event

The Comus Inn’s Vanish Beer Garden is hosting a Galentine’s Day event, complete with a women’s trivia and wine event at 6:30 p.m., six local female vendors selling their wares, a 10% discount off bottles of wine and the opportunity to win a gift card to The Comus Inn. There will also be a photo opportunity in front of a balloon wall. Tickets are $25.

Hey Girl Hey Natural Body Care is hosting a Bubbles & Blooms, a flower-arranging and soap-making class. Students can make customizable, all-natural soap bars and design fresh flower bouquets. The event is open to people 18 and older. Tickets cost $87.

Valentine’s Day Children’s Floral Design Workshop with Rolling Ridge Floral Design

Children ages 1 through 12 can learn to arrange flowers with Rolling Ridge Floral Design. The event is held above floral designer Emmi Bergmann’s horse barn and costs $39. Groups of four or more can schedule a private reservation.

A Valentine’s Day Family Storytime at Marilyn J. Praisner Library
