Raskin honors local musician for anti-racism advocacy

U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Dist. 8) of Takoma Park honored Montgomery County-based musician Daryl Davis as a “Local Hero” for his activism to end racism. Davis is a graduate of Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville and is known both for his talent as a jazz artist and his experiences of socializing with Ku Klux Klan members in an attempt to turn them away from racism. Bethesda’s historic Herman Presbyterian Church celebrates 150 years

Herman Presbyterian Church is celebrating 150 years in Bethesda. Founders of Montgomery County’s government, including the Magruder family, were members of the church, which was founded in 1874. [NBC 4]
