Police investigate shooting at The Warwick Apartments in Silver Spring

Scene is secure, police say

Montgomery County police are responding to a shooting at The Warwick Apartments in Silver Spring, according to police radio transmissions.

At approximately 4:34 p.m. officers responded to the 1100 block of University Boulevard West for the report of a shooting, police said in an email statement. When officers arrived, they located two victims, one who was at the scene and another on a Metro bus near the intersection of University Boulevard and Easecrest Drive.

The victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to radio transmissions, one victim was transported to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda and the other was taken to MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

As of 5:30 p.m., a suspect was not in custody, the statement said.

On social media, county police said officers were on the scene of a shooting and the scene was secure.
