Yet with all the happenings across the area, it can be a challenge to figure out exactly what to do. Through Feb. 8: Petite Rouge: A Cajun Red Riding Hood

This Cajun twist on the childhood classic features a red-robed duck, a kitty, a Big Bad Gator and more. The family-friendly musical offers a sensory-inclusive performance on Saturday at 4 p.m. and an ASL-interpreted performance on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. Prices start at $12.
Saturday: Bumper Car Squares
7 – 10:30 p.m.
Spanish Ballroom, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo
No partner or experience is needed for this introductory square-dancing session. Learn the moves at 7 p.m., then dance to live music by Rhys Jones, Jay White and more. Tickets are $15, $5 for teens and free for children ages 12 and younger.
Saturday: Marriage at the Mansion
Noon – 4 p.m.
Kentlands Mansion, 320 Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg
Planning a wedding? Then Kentland Mansion’s Bridal Show is the place to be. Wedding planners, photographers and more will be on hand, and attendees can sample foods, listen to music and learn about the latest trends. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door.
Sunday: Mamífera

Cinema Art Bethesda, 7500 Woodmont Ave., #715, Bethesda
Cinema Art Bethesda presents Mamífera, a Spanish movie about a couple deciding whether to keep their pregnancy. Lola, 40, never wanted children, but her partner, Bruno, does. Due to Spanish law at the time, the couple have three days to make the decision. The movie runs 90 minutes in Catalan with English subtitles. Admission is $15 and includes coffee, tea and bagels.
Sunday: 2025 New Year Symphony Concert
7:30 p.m.
The Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda
Chinese tenor singer Yuqiang Dai, Roman soprano Chiara Taigi and senior music conductor Guo-fu Ma come together to put on a New Year’s and Lunar New Year’s musical performance. Tickets start at $25.
Monday: 100 Reflections on the 2024 Election
1 – 2:30 p.m.
Online or Washington Metro Oasis, Macy’s Home Store, 7125 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda
Veteran journalist and professor Steve Roberts will speak on his reflections of the 2024 election. Roberts appeared on ABC News as a political analyst and has covered 14 presidential elections. He is now a professor at George Washington University. Tickets cost $14.
