Sledding safety tips
Montgomery Parks advises sled riders to “exercise caution while sledding,” according to a Monday news release. Make sure the sledding hill is free of obstacles such as rocks, tree branches, other sleds and riders before heading down. In addition, adults should always supervise children while sledding, and all should consider using safety gear such as helmets, the release said.
According to the Montgomery Parks website, parks owned by the department close at sunset and sledding after dark is not allowed.
