The Maryland State Highway Administration has designated nearly 7 miles of temporary bus-only lanes in Silver Spring and Wheaton as permanent. The temporary lanes on Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road were implemented last summer when several Red Line stations were closed due to station upgrades and construction of the light-rail Purple Line. Clarksburg man sentenced for rape at college graduation party

Nelson Jones, 27, of Clarksburg will spend a year in prison after he was sentenced Friday in Montgomery County Circuit Court for his November conviction on a third-degree sex offense stemming from a college graduation event in 2021. Jones was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with all but 12 months suspended. [MyMCMedia]
