Police investigate Rockville Pike fatal pedestrian collision  

Baltimore resident died weeks after being struck by car in November

Montgomery County detectives are investigating a Nov. 10 collision in Bethesda that has resulted in the death of a 50-year-old pedestrian, police said Tuesday in a statement.  

According to police, Derrick Lamarr Fields of Baltimore was struck shortly before 11 p.m. that day by a 2012 Hyundai Sonata while crossing the street in the area of Rockville Pike and Marinelli Drive in Bethesda, according to the statement. 

Field was transported to a hospital where he died Dec. 3 as a result of his injuries, police said.

In an email to MoCo360, police spokesperson Carlos Cortes said detectives are still determining the exact location where Fields was struck. The collision was not a hit and run, he said. No further information was available. 

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed collision to call (240) 773-6620, the statement said.
