Piringer said the fire appeared to have originated on the deck and then extended into the home. No one was injured, but the fire displaced three adults, three children and three dogs, he said. No monetary estimate of damage caused by the fire was provided.
By 12:15 a.m., Piringer said the fire had been extinguished.
MCFRS crews will be returning to the neighborhood at 3 p.m. Tuesday offering to check home fire alarms and answer fire safety questions, according to MCFRS assistant chief David Pazos.
