In a “disappointing update” on Thursday, the county’s chief of homelessness efforts, Christine Hong, said management of the Enclave apartments in Silver Spring was unwilling to provide reductions in back rent amounts, making it so 200 refugees living in the apartments that were promised financial support will have to relocate. Maryland’s only Republican congressman dismisses challenge from Montgomery County chef

After José Andrés, the Bethesda resident and celebrity chef, suggested his desire to run for U.S. Rep. Andy Harris’s (Dist. 1-R) seat on social media, the Republican congressman dismissed the challenge. Harris said on Wednesday that he found the chef’s post amusing and noted Andrés would have to move from Montgomery County. [WJLA]
