16-year-old allegedly carrying 432 suspected fentanyl pills arrested

18-year-old alleged buyer also charged in Nov. 1 incident in Glenmont area, police say

Montgomery County police arrested a 16-year-old who was allegedly found carrying 432 suspected fentanyl pills following a Nov. 1 investigation in Glenmont, police said Friday in a statement.

The teen boy was charged with possession of drugs with intent to sell, the statement said. He was referred to the county’s Department of Juvenile Services and then released to a guardian, according to police.

Officers also arrested the alleged buyer, an 18-year-old from Riverdale in Prince George’s County. According to police Public Information Officer Casandra Tresler, he was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. No other details were provided about his identity.

On Nov. 1, officers from the department’s 4th District’s Special Assignment Team were in the Glenmont area conducting an investigation when they saw two people allegedly buying and selling drugs on Georgian Wood Place, according to the statement. The location is near Wheaton Regional Park.

When police searched the teens after the arrest, they allegedly found 13 “M30” pills, which are suspected to be fentanyl pills, on the 18-year-old, according to the statement. The 16-year-old was allegedly in possession of 432 of the “M30” pills, as well as packaging materials and an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
