A county police officer who witnessed the incident called the shooting into dispatch at 4:57 p.m., according to the transmissions. “I saw them do a shooting, at least first-degree assault, they just turned” on Mid-County Highway, the officer said.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews were dispatched around 5 p.m. to the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle for the report of a shooting, according to the transmissions. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds.

According to radio transmissions, multiple gunshots were reported and police initially pursued the three suspects who were in a gray Honda minivan.

Police dispatched a helicopter, a drone and K-9 as they searched for the suspects.

During the pursuit, the minivan hit a school bus, which officers said was likely “unoccupied,” according to transmissions.

As police chased the suspects, officers noted the car had a flat tire and was beginning to slow down. Near Clopper Road, the suspects bailed out of the car, according to transmissions. After the suspects left the car, police chased them on foot.

Around 5:12 p.m., officers reported one person was in custody, according to radio transmissions. Another suspect wearing all black and a ski mask had bailed out of the minivan and jumped over a fence to evade police, according to transmissions.

At 5:25 p.m., police officers announced they had all three suspects in custody and canceled the call for a helicopter.

“All suspects were apprehended,” one officer said over transmissions.
