Takoma Park-Silver Spring Co-op reopens Wednesday

After a summer of construction, the Takoma Park-Silver Spring Co-Op at 201 Ethan Ave. in Takoma Park is reopening Wednesday. A grand opening celebration is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday. The business will fete its updated digs with a ribbon cutting, samples from local vendors, music from Crush Funk Brass Band and a $5 gift certificate for the first 200 customers. Clarksburg High wins county flag football championship

The inaugural season of girls flag football came to a close Monday with Clarksburg High School defeating Germantown’s Northwest High School, 13-6, in a championship game. The season kicked off in early September and made Montgomery County Public Schools one of four Maryland districts to add the sport to its roster of high school athletic teams. [The Washington Post]
