Three Bethesda teens are facing charges in connection with a robbery that allegedly occurred last week at a tobacco shop in Bethesda, according to Montgomery County police.
At approximately 9:34 a.m. on Oct. 22, police responded to Tobacco and More Mart at 7809 Old Georgetown Road for the report of a robbery, police said in a statement Monday.
According to police, the suspects, ages 14, 15 and 16, entered the store, took property and attempted to leave. Police did not say what property the teens allegedly stole.
When an employee at the store tried to intervene, the 16-year-old allegedly struck the worker in the head, according to police. Then the teens allegedly left the scene with the stolen property.
After the robbery, police located and apprehended the teens after matching a description of the suspects. The teens were taken into custody without incident, the statement said.
The teens were later charged with robbery and released to their primary caregivers, police said in the statement.
Police did not say where the teens were arrested or whether a weapon was used in the robbery. The statement also did not say whether the employee was injured.
