Firefighters put out Silver Spring house fire

Occupants safe, no injuries reported, according to radio transmissions

Montgomery County firefighters battled a fire Tuesday afternoon in the attic of a home off Connecticut Avenue in Silver Spring, according to radio transmissions.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews responded shortly after 5 p.m. to the fire at the single-family home in the 3700 block of Brightview Street, MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer wrote on social media.

Upon arrival, responding firefighters reported “smoke showing from the roofline” and “dark gray smoke” coming from the eaves.

“All occupants are reported to be out,” the radio transmissions said. No injuries were reported.

At about 5:45 p.m., the fire was reported to be under control, according to the transmissions.
