A car struck a 9-year-old pedestrian in front of John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring on Wednesday morning, resulting in minor injuries to the child, according to Montgomery County police radio transmissions.
At roughly 7:53 a.m., officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to the report of a juvenile pedestrian struck at the intersection of Randolph Road and Middlevale Lane, police said Wednesday morning in an email to MoCo360. The high school is at 1901 Randolph Road.
The child sustained minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital, police said. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
Police are investigating the collision. A Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman said the district also is looking into the incident.
