Police are searching for a suspect or suspects in two stabbings in the area of the Twinbrook Metro station in Rockville on Sunday afternoon, according to police radio transmissions.
Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews were dispatched to 1700 Chapman Ave. on the west side of the Metro station at 5:29 p.m. for the report of a man stabbed in the back, according to police radio transmissions. Additional first responders were then dispatched to a report of another stabbing at 1560 Rockville Pike at 5:33 p.m.

According to radio transmissions, the victim at the Metro station was stabbed at around 5:15 p.m. The second victim at the Rockville Pike location was stabbed between 5:20 and 5:30 p.m.
The locations of the two stabbings are less than a half mile apart. Though there appeared to be some initial confusion over the number of victims, a responding officer confirmed at 5:36 p.m. that there were “two different victims,” according to the radio transmissions.
At least one victim was transported to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, according to the radio transmissions.
Also, according to the radio transmissions, officers deployed K-9 units, and one officer asked if others could begin canvassing along the track at the Twinbrook station. Officers reported in radio transmissions that the suspect went behind a store and toward the Metro tracks.
