Montgomery County police are investigating the death of a man whose motorcycle was struck by a minivan Saturday night on Rockville Pike, according to authorities.
Officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews responded at about 7:21 p.m. for the report of a motorcyclist struck on Rockville Pike at Tuckerman Lane, police said Saturday night in a statement.
MCFRS crews attempted life-saving measures, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement said.
The driver of the Toyota minivan involved in the collision was transported to an area hospital, the statement said. No information about the driver’s injuries was provided.
Police closed northbound and southbound Rockville Pike at Tuckerman Lane while investigating the collision, according to the statement.
The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision. The identity of the motorcyclist will be released following the proper notification of the next of kin, the statement said.
