Shashwat Ajit Adhikari, 31, of Silver Spring has been named as one of six people who were killed in a plane crash in the Outer Banks in North Carolina on Saturday, according to the National Park Service. The plane’s pilot had been attempting to land when the crash occurred. [NBC4]

MoCo handyman refurbishes old bikes for refugees, people in need

Over the last few years, Manuel Vera, 74, has been tinkering with and refurbishing old bikes in his backyard workshop and then giving them away to those in need such as immigrants and refugees. Vera has given away about 700 bicycles. [WTOP]
