Three teens were arrested on Saturday in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on the 13700 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring Friday night, Montgomery County police said in a statement Monday.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a report of an armed carjacking and arrived to find a woman who was physically assaulted after exiting her Lexus in a parking lot, police said. The woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The boys—two 15-years-olds and a 17-year-old—allegedly took her car keys and cellphone and left the scene in the Lexus, police said.
Apartment buildings surround the location of the carjacking and police did not disclose what kind of weapon the teens allegedly used.
The teens were arrested Saturday at the 7-Eleven at 11303 Lockwood Drive in Silver Spring after they all exited the Lexus, police said.
The 17-year-old was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and was charged as an adult with armed carjacking and other related charges, according to the police statement.
The 15-year-olds were also charged as adults for armed carjacking and were transported to a juvenile detention center.
All three are being held without bond, police said.
